Our research group activities are focused on design and synthesis of transition metal polypyridyl complexes, the metals such as Ru(II), Co(II/III), and V((III).The characterization of the metal polypyridyl complexes were carried out with the help of 1H, 13C, elemental analysis, HRMS/ESI-mass, UV-visible spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy and single crystal X-ray crystallography etc. The thoroughly characterized complexes are used as biological probes for DNA-binding studies, DNA-condensation, non-viral gene delivery etc. Moreover, these complexes are also used for energy application such as catalysts for water splitting. Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs) of Ni(II), Cu(II), Pb(II) and Cd(II) metal are being explored for Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells (PEMFCs).
